In my career as a financial statement auditor, I had the pleasure of working with many small to medium sized business owners who were going through a first-time audit or due diligence engagement. These owners poured their hearts and souls into their companies and you could see the pride on their faces when they spoke of the businesses they built. They were all very successful and the operational side of their business was running like clock-work. Their accounting, on the other hand, was often a different story. When you’re starting and growing a business, staying on top of the ever-evolving U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a high hurdle to overcome. Many business owners don’t even think about GAAP until they have an audit or due diligence engagement letter in hand.
While performing these engagements, I saw a large need for someone to help these businesses get their accounting in order BEFORE the audit or due diligence team shows up. And that’s how Bright-Fox Consulting came to be. My services can help save you time, money, and frustration because I know what these teams are looking for and therefore, know how to ensure your financials are in the best possible shape to get your audit or due diligence completed quickly and efficiently.
I have over ten years of experience as an external auditor working with clients of all sizes, from small, family-owned businesses to large, publicly traded corporations. I have worked with clients in the Technology, SaaS, Construction, Wholesale, Manufacturing, and Vacation Ownership industries. I have significant experience with clients obtaining private equity investments and those requiring first-time audits. I have experience with many complex accounting areas such as stock compensation and corporate conversions. At my previous firm, I was the go-to person for the new revenue recognition standard in the technology sector and the new lease standard.
