Audit, Due Diligence, and Quality of Earnings Engagement Support Services
Is a new bank covenant requiring your company to get a first-time audit? Is your company looking to get a sell-side quality of earnings report to give to a potential investor? Does your company plan to go to market for an outside buyer, who will require a financial due diligence report?
These engagements will review a number of areas related to your company’s financials, including compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and processes in place to ensure accurate financial reporting and prevention of fraud. Preparing for and working through these engagements can take up a significant amount of time and can often lead to additional audit or due diligence team fees or delays in the close of a sale if you’re not properly prepared. With over 10 years of experience, I know what these teams will be looking for and how to best prepare your company and its financials to get through these engagements timely and pain-free.
As part of these services, I can:
- Review your company’s financials to ensure they are in accordance with U.S. GAAP and work with you and your team to make changes as necessary.
- Review your company’s financial processes to identify any holes that might be a red flag to your audit or due diligence team and suggest operational changes, if necessary.
- Assist in the gathering and preparation of requested documents and schedules by the audit or due diligence team.
- Assist in answering inquiries and questions posed by the audit or due diligence team.
New Accounting Standard Assistance
Are you and your team struggling to find the time to implement newly issued accounting standards?
These new standards can often be confusing and time consuming to implement. As a former external auditor, I have significant experience understanding and assisting clients in implementing two of the most significant changes to accounting guidance in recent history (revenue recognition and accounting for leases).
As part of these services, I can:
- Prepare necessary calculations and journal entries to account for the transition to the new guidance.
- Train team members on the new standard, including implementation and ongoing accounting in accordance with the new guidance.
- Prepare schedules that can be used for ongoing accounting in accordance with the new guidance.
